This has been a great week! From receiving my Alien Registration Card (ARC) to getting a Korean cell phone to figuring out the super complicated trash system, things have been going well. I just returned from E-Mart -- one of the major grocery store chains in Korea -- and was reminded of how food in Korea can be a little costly.
Fruit is the most expensive thing here, especially when purchased at a big-box grocery store, as opposed to out of the back of someone's truck. I'd have taken some pictures, but it wouldn've seemed sketchy because E-Mart at 4pm is like Atlanta rush hour traffic...people everywhere!
The biggest development was getting my Korean cell phone, which is nice because not being connected in the world's "most connected country" is tough. Especially tough when you want to translate something you don't understand but you don't have access to the Internet! On that note, I hope to have Internet at home in the next week or two -- I can get things like that now that I have my ARC.
I'll be taking pictures of my apartment soon, but not until I'm able to make it more homey looking. Anyway, here are some pictures of various things from this week:

My new phone! |

I pushed this button, thinking it was to make the light change so I could cross the street. Nope, it's actually an automated voice that helps the visually impaired cross the street. Korea seems quite good about having access to things for disabled people. |

The guy in white is demonstrating a vegetable slicer...in the middle of the grocery store! E-Mart is always amusing. |
 |
A small package of meat (the cheapest one) that's overpriced by U.S. standards. But beef is just expensive here! |
 |
This gum package looks so suspicious. Definitely not what I thought it was at first. LOL |
 |
I gave one of my students a "yellow card," which is a warning not to break the class rules. This is the note she left me after class for talking while the teacher was talking. |
 |
Umm so there's a Bad Breath Seminar? Oh ok. Haha |
 |
Some of my 10th graders (1st grade high school in Korea) hard at work! |

Here are the busy bees again in the English Zone! |
