We walked around for a while and then decided to get lunch at a cool Chinese restaurant that was quite cheap. Well, it's cheap in comparison to the one Chinese restaurant I've been to in Daegu, where each dish was $50-70 (special shout out to Daegu Girls' High School for footing those lovely lunch bills!).
Gyeongju is beautiful! It has this quaint sort of small-town feel about it without feeling too tiny.
You can start your day in Gyeongju with a leisurely ride in a horse-drawn carriage... |
and then find yourself taking pictures of an all-too-picturesque hill... |
near which an ajeossi and ajumma -- decked out in the requisite ajumma visor -- are chilling out. |
Ok end of the little story. These are the cabbagey things that are randomly strewn about the city. |
After several months of not seeing each other, finally reunited! |
Cherry blossom season is upon us! |
If a picture is worth 1,000 words and this panorama is technically 3 pictures stitched together, how many words does it merit? |
Brittany's co-teacher was kind enough to pick us up and drive us around so that I could visit some of the sights in Gyeongju. She even brought her daughter, pictured below, along for the ride. Everyone at Brittany's school is overflowing with ridiculous amounts of niceness, so I can see why she loves Gyeongju so much.
Off to the next destination! |
